Enhanced COVID-19 testing in Colville and Pembridge wards, W11
Public Health England (PHE) has identified a small number of cases of the COVID-19 variant first discovered in South Africa in part of W11, around Portobello Road. To control the spread of the COVID-19 variant, and in order to help better understand any potential infection, RBKC are working closely with PHE to carry out enhanced testing in the area.
RBKC are encouraging everyone aged 16 and over living or working in, or visiting the W11 area of Colville or part of Pembridge wards, who do not have symptoms, to get an asymptomatic PCR test, even if they have been vaccinated.
The enhanced testing will begin on Monday 10 May 2021 and is being introduced in addition to existing extensive local testing. In combination with the current national restrictions, this testing will help to monitor and suppress the spread of the virus.
RBKC are making testing more easily available. You can go to one of the mobile testing units based at:
- Tavistock Square, junction of Portobello Road (Monday 10 May 2021, 9am-4.30pm, Tuesday 11 May 2021 onwards, 8.30am-4.30pm)
- All Saints Church, between Powis Square and Clydesdale Road (Monday 10 May 2021, 9am-4.30pm, Tuesday 11 May 2021 onwards, 8.30am-4.30pm)
You can also go to the testing sites at 2-4 Malton Road (8am-8pm).
